This aerial panorama of Churchill Downs was taken by Christopher Gjevre, photographer with Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas, during the running of the 2005 Kentucky Derby. Blakeway Worldwide Panoramas was founded in 1989 and is best known for panoramic photography of the world's great cities and sites. This is the first image taken of the running of the Kentucky Derby since the newly renovated Churchill Downs. This photograph features the Twin Spires, which has become the symbol of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, and captures what has been referred to as "the greatest two minutes in sports".
