A watercolor by internationally acclaimed artist Misha Lenn has been unveiled as the official art of the 2007 "Art of the Kentucky Derby Series" that celebrates next year's 133rd renewal of the famed "Run for the Roses".
The work created by Lenn for the 2007 "Art of the Kentucky Derby Series" captures all of the elements of the Kentucky Derby experience. The dazzling watercolor work features images of fans in Derby finery, including spectacular Derby hats for the women, Thoroughbreds and jockeys in full flight and a bugler sounding the "Call to the Post" - all against the backdrop of Churchill Downs' signature Twin Spires. The Derby tradition takes on a new dimension in the artist's fluid, impressionistic style.
